Club Menangle set to shine in pink throughout May

Posted on 3 May 2024

For the third year running Club Menangle will be turning pink throughout May to participate in the Pacing For Pink campaign, which supports the McGrath Foundation.

Over the past two years Club Menangle have raised in excess of $30,000 and will this month be looking to add to that total from success on the track and as we host our inaugural Schweppes Pacing For Pink Race Night on Saturday 4 May.

Club Menangle will host eight race meetings in May and has committed to donating the following:

  • $200 for each win recorded by a driver in the Pink Pants at Club Menangle
  • $200 for each female training win recorded at Club Menangle
  • $200 for each win that is recorded by a horse carrying saddlecloth Number 8 at Club Menangle

Bruce Christison Chief Executive Officer at Club Menangle said “Our Club is proud to be participating in the Pacing For Pink campaign.

We have seen the success that the ‘pink pants’ have had at our track and across Australia in the past couple of years, and we are again looking forward to seeing the Harness Racing industry working together to raise funds in support of the McGrath Foundation.”

The McGrath Foundation have 223 McGrath Breast Care Nurses across Australia and have supported 137,000 families since 2005.

Tracy Bevan Ambassador & Director of the McGrath Foundation saidIt is only through the support of the community and our partners that we can continue providing the free care and support of our McGrath Breast Care Nurses to families across Australia. We can’t thank you enough for your support.”

On Saturday 4 May Club Menangle will host the inaugural running of the Schweppes Pacing For Pink Race Night with the venue dressed in pink in support of the important cause.

Harness Racing action is headlined by four group one races on the card, the Pryde’s Easifeed Queen Elizabeth II Mile, John Gibson Memorial NSW Oaks Final, Slingsby Holdings Macarthur Mile Trotting Mares and Haras des Trotteurs NSW Trotters Oaks.

Off the track our Sold-Out charity event “A Pink Affair” will be an evening filled with fashion showcases, engaging guest speakers and lively performances. While the Miracle Mile Restaurant, our premier trackside hospitality experience will be offering a bespoke pink menu. Pink Cocktails will also be on available in the King Of Swing Bar. The Menangle NightMarkets will be on course featuring over 50 stalls.
